Eyebrow Game Strong

Written By: Fanny Lau

If the eyes act as windows to the soul, consider eyebrows to be the window frames. I’m admittedly low-key when it comes to makeup, often choosing to sleep in, but discovered the magic of eyebrow makeup after some time spent overplucking and unfortunate threading experiences. I share with you a few of my favourite products.

E.L.F. Eyebrow Kit

My friend Katey introduced me to this very affordable kit from E.L.F. a few years ago. The wax side of the kit fills in gaps in the brow quite nicely and the powder side sets it, doubling nicely as an eye shadow. Not to mention, it’s a dupe at a fraction of the price of beauty store brands. Price: $3.97.

Saje Herbal Balm

This Herbal Balm from Saje is intended to strengthen eyelashes and nails, but I use it on my eyebrows as well. There’s no potion to help speed up the growth of lash or brow hair, but conditioning it with an all-natural balm doesn’t hurt. Price: $9.95.

The Estée Edit More Than Brows

The little pencil that could. The “more” part of its name alludes to the fact that it can be used not only to fill in brows, but also as an eye shadow. I love how easily this pencil smudges, and it creates the perfect, long lasting smokey eye. Price: $26.00.

Smashbox Brow Tech Shaping Powder

Smashbox has a great selection of eyebrow products, but the long lasting factor of this powder intrigued me. Trick of the trade? Give the powder a good shake and tap before pulling the applicator out. The brush creates fine strokes that mimic hairs nicely. Price: $27.00.
